How have we changed our practice?
In light of the ever-changing environment that COVID-19 has created, the Haldimand Family Health Team has taken steps to follow recommendations made by health officials and the government of Canada. To promote physical distancing and self-isolation, we have implemented the following changes:
-
tele-appointments/virtual visits are being offered prior to in-person visits
-
minimizing numbers in the waiting room and spreading out seating area
-
separation between in-clinic appointments
-
only essential visitors are allowed in with patients (i.e. children, translators, support workers, those aiding the physically disabled, etc)
-
plexiglass barriers
-
use of PPE
-
COVID-19 screening done on all individuals entering the clinic
The following visits will continue to be offered in person:
-
prenatal visits
-
new baby checks
-
abnormal pap follow-up
-
school physicals
-
all childhood immunizations
-
TB skin testing
-
Prolia injections
-
adult immunizations (if you are due for a booster)
-
birth control injections
-
hormonal and psychiatric injections
